Pupils should exercise self-discipline and show consideration for others at all times to promote a conducive environment for effective teaching and learning.
Pupils are not to participate in activities that are not in keeping with the school’s aims and motto.Pupils must conduct themselves with propriety at all times.
A CHIJ Katong Convent pupil:
• does not steal
• does not fight
• does not vandalise
• does not gamble
• does not smoke
• does not use indecent language
For the use of the internet, pupils must:
1. obtain permission from the school to upload their websites/webpages on to the school website be aware of the importance of tone and respect for others.
2. NOT post pictures of themselves and their schoolmates in school uniform, staff members or any part of the school premises and property.
3. NOT post defamatory comments about schoolmates and staff members
4. NOT use vulgarities or post undesirable pictures
5. NOT infringe on the intellectual property of others
DISCIPLINARY PROCEDURE
Any pupil who violates the school rules and regulations is liable to face disciplinary action according to the severity of the offence.
Pupils who commit very serious offences that involve violation of the law will be handed over to the police.
Expulsion is liable under any of these conditions:
when the offender is recalcitrant.when the safety and security of pupils and staff is jeopardized.
Rules for use of Internet
All CHIJ Katong Convent Students should note the following when setting up/using any form of published/uploaded material on the Internet
1) Obtain parental permission before setting up your blog or personal website.
2) Write in good English.
3) Be mindful of the frequency, length of posts, number of hyperlinks and staying on topic.
4) Be aware of the importance of tone and respect for others' opinions.
5) Do not infringe on the intellectual property of others.
6) Do not publish identifiable picture of yourself or your school mates in school uniform.
7) Do not publish any photos of the school staff in your blog site or personal website.
8) Do not publish any photos taken on school premises.
9) Do not post defamatory comments about the staff, student/s of the school (or any other school) or MOE.
10) Do not use your blog/website to promote harted or distribute pornography.
11) Do not use vulgarities.
12) All websites/webpages created by students for uploading on the school website, must be approved by the HOD IT/Admin.
